Registrar's Office - Dropping a Course
Students are encouraged to contact their advisor and/or instructor when considering dropping a course. Dropping a course may change student status for financial aid, veterans benefits, etc. Once a decision to drop is made, students may drop a course or courses according to the Drop policies below.
DROP REFUND PERIOD A student has until the 8th calendar day of the semester to drop a course in writing with the Registrar's Office to receive a refund of tuition less non-refundable fees. Courses running less than two weeks must be dropped by the end of the first day of class. Workshops must be dropped three days prior to the workshop.

- W - Student Withdrawal: Students may submit a drop form to the Registrar's Office prior to the end of the drop period. Drop forms can be submitted by the instructor if the student, due to extenuating circumstances, is unable to submit the drop form.

- WP - Withdraw Passing - Student may initiate a Withdraw Passing after the drop period. The student must have a passing grade at the time of drop. A WP does not affect GPA. Withdraw Passing forms can be initiated by the instructor, if the student, due to extenuating circumstances, is unable to initiate the drop. Withdraw Passing/Failure forms must be submitted to the Registrar's Office by the instructor.
- WF - Withdraw Failing - Students may initiate a Withdraw Failure after the drop period. The student has a failing grade at the time of the drop. A WF calculates in GPA as an F. Withdraw Passing/Failure forms must be submitted to the Registrar's Office by the instructor.
