LRCC Welcomes New Running Start Coordinator
Photo: Lakes Region Community College’s (LRCC) new Running Start Coordinator, Clay Groves (Conway), makes his first presentation to high school teachers and college faculty partners yesterday at LRCC’s Food for Thought Café in Belmont. Running Start, a program that allows high school students to earn college credits while at the same time meeting their secondary school requirements, has five hundred twenty Lakes Region student participants.
Groves comes to LRCC having most recently worked as the Program Coordinator of White Mountains Community College’s Conway Academic Center.
"I am very excited to have the opportunity to help Lakes Region students earn college credit while they are still in high school," says Groves. "Having been a science teacher, NH Audubon Naturalist and an Americorps volunteer, I have developed a deep love for education. I can’t wait to meet all the students, teachers, principals and guidance counselors as I visit Lakes Region high schools to show them how offering more Running Start courses at their schools will be a great service to their students."
