LRCC Graphic Design Student Wins Granite State Dairy Promotion
Photo: Granite State Dairy Promotion (GSDP) Director, Amy Hall (Belmont – left), displays an aspect of the winning group’s project with Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) Graphic Design student, Abbey Dow (Loudon – right). Dow, along with LRCC General Studies major, Debra Foote (Andover- not pictured), created the winning marketing plan based upon a potential affiliation between New Hampshire Motor Speedway and "Lily," (pictured on the t-shirts) a lovable, contented, friendly, and remarkably personable cow.
"The six LRCC Principles of Marketing class groups came up with wonderful ideas for promoting New Hampshire’s dairy industry," says Hall who worked with LRCC Marketing Professor, Max Brown (Loudon), over the Spring Semester with his class. "We hope to implement a number of the ideas. ’Lily’ is a cutie and could work well representing New Hampshire’s dairy industry!"
Hall; Agriculture Department Commissioner, Lorraine Merrill (Stratham); Director of Agricultural Development, Gail McWilliam Jellie (Charlestown); GSDP Board, Chair, Tim Riel (Epsom); and New Hampshire Radio Network Director, Roger Proulx (Northfield); assisted in judging the LRCC competition.
"It has been great fun working with Amy and others on the class project, designed to assist a critical New Hampshire industry," says Brown. "The students have been working on their dairy promotion marketing plans since January and have learned a great deal about New Hampshire’s dairy industry."
