LRCC Anime Club

Photo: Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) Anime Club President, Garett Belair (Northfield), gives the "thumbs-up" for the College’s latest organization. Belair will be offering Anime viewings every other Monday beginning March 30, 4:00 p.m., in the Center for Arts and Technology, Room 215, on Prescott Hill. The presentations will include movies and episodes of Anime, which is an extremely popular art form in both Japanese and American cultures.

"The model for LRCC’s Anime Club is based upon the one used by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Anime Club," says Belair, a senior LRCC Computer Technologies major, who has enjoyed Anime since childhood. "Having spent significant time in Japan, I feel that I can offer a unique perspective to the audience."

The aim of the Anime Club (officially titled Japanese Anime Foreign Film Appreciation Society) is to raise awareness of Anime throughout the Lakes Region community. Individuals seventeen years or older are welcome to attend the viewings free of charge.

Call LRCC Computer Technologies Department Head, Sann Lavallee (Belmont), at 524-3207 ext. 768 for additional information.
