Lakes Region Community College Hosts Medical Marijuana Forum

On Monday, March 16, Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) will be hosting a forum on "Should Medical Marijuana be Legal?" The forum is scheduled to begin at 12 noon, Room 216, in LRCC’s new Center for Arts and Technology academic building on Prescott Hill.

A panel discussion will include, in favor of the bill, Dr. James Pilliod, Physician and NH Representative; Matt Simon, Executive Director, NH Coalition for Common Sense Marijuana Policy; and Sandra Drew, Muscular Dystrophy patient. Speaking in opposition are Chief Richard Crate, NH Association of Chiefs of Police; Skip Murphy, Radio Commentator; and a third panelist (yet to be determined).

"The timing is right for the Medical Marijuana Forum as House Bill 648 is currently under consideration," says LRCC Student Affairs Vice President, Jim Vander Hooven (Laconia). "We expect a lively discussion on the topic."

The general public is cordially invited. For additional information, contact LRCC Student Affairs Secretary, Randi Provencal (Laconia), 524-3207 ext. 799.
