OSHA Training Sessions @ LRCC
Photo: Authorized Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Trainer, Keith Fletcher (Belmont), will be conducting two 10- hour construction industry training courses at Lakes Region Community College. Topics to be covered in the two courses are the OSHA Act, General Duty Clause/Introduction to OSHA, General Safety Provisions, Electrical Safety, and Fall Protection. Other topics will be customized to address the needs of each audience.
"Safety in the construction trades is becoming increasingly important," says Fletcher, who is a Master Electrician and LRCC Electrical Technologies Professor. "The OSHA construction training course will help in reducing Worker’s Compensation costs, increasing employee morale, and allows companies to more readily implement safety award programs."
The OSHA course to be taught by Fletcher will be on Wednesday, June 24, and Thursday, June 25. The sessions will run from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The OSHA training classes will be limited to 15 participants so early registration is recommended. Larger companies who would prefer on-site training for their employees can make arrangements with the College’s Center for Workforce Development (CWD), 524-3207 ext. 759 or 773.
The advanced 30- hour OSHA training course, primarily focused towards foremen, supervisors and management, is being planned for the future. For additional information on the 30- hour advanced training course, contact LRCC’s CWD Director, Joe Hallgren (Laconia) or CWD Secretary, Rae Paddleford (Campton).
