LRCC Experiences Enrollment Growth for Spring
Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) personnel announce enrollment growth for the 2009 Spring Semester. Comparing the second Friday of the current semester with the second Friday last spring, LRCC’s enrollment is up 4%. For the 2007-08 academic year, enrollment growth was 11%.
"LRCC has experienced significant expansion for some time," says LRCC President, Dr. Mark Edelstein (Laconia), referring to LRCC’s new Center for Arts and Technology (CAT) academic building and expanded program base, as well as student numbers. "Likely one of the main reasons is LRCC becoming a more comprehensive community college incorporating stronger and stronger transfer programs for students continuing at four-year colleges and/ or universities."
LRCC’s Liberal Arts Transfer Degree Program has risen from 67 enrollees one year ago to 88 this semester, an increase of 31.3%. "Liberal Arts applications continue to rise along with applications for technical programs," says LRCC Admissions Director, Wayne Fraser (Alton). "Everyone is pleased to see continuing growth."
